Minerva McGonagall was sitting in her desk waiting for her students to come in. After a few seconds she decided to transform into her cat form. Muttering the spell under her breath she could walk around the class unnoticed in the shadows. Everyone but the first years knew about this, it was old news to them. Instead they wanted to become an Animagus, but that was hard work. She was reminded of James Potter and his friends.
She ran under her desk and curled up in a ball, trying to to remember that day, but there was one living memory of James and Lily Potter, their son, Harry.
Her attention was taken by the steps approaching the entrance. Class was about to begin and she was ready. She didn't worry about the directions they were already written and the students always followed them. Minerva was able to peek out of her desk to see if the students did take their quills out and write a few things they learned the year before.

Hermione wasted no time getting to class. Indeed she did always enjoy Transfiguration, it was always a favorite of hers and of course, she was good at it. She glanced around her as she walked into the classroom, noticing that no one was here yet, but there were people close behind her. Well she moved to her seat, glancing around and wondering where Harry and Ron were. She glanced at the board, and would quickly take out her quill, a bottle of ink, and some parchment and begin to write what she learned last year. Of course she managed to write quite a bit on that subject.
She glanced around briefly, wondering where McGonnagal was. She remembered her first year where she simply sat upon the desk, staring at the class in cat form, before jumping off the desk and turning back into their teacher. She grinned at that memory and wondered if she was to do it again this year.

Amy entered the Transfiguration classroom. She was a little eager for class to start. She glanced around the classroom smiling to herself. There was only one other student in the classroom. Hermione Granger. Amy smiled and nodded in her direction. Amy had never had any problems with Hermione. Amy sat on the desk next to Hermione, glancing around the room, wondering where Professor McGonagall could be.

Hermione looked up as Amy made her way into the Transfiguration class. She returned the sentiments to the girl. She had always liked Amy. She was bright, which of course landed her in Ravenclaw. Well she would nod lightly to her as she sat down. Hermione would continue the assignment on the board quietly, smiling a little as she wrote quite a bit already before the class had even entered.
